Sunday School & Children's Church

In our Sunday School and Children's Church classes we strive to teach the bible in a way that is creative and engaging in order to reach today's children. Lessons are specifically designed for each class to provide Christ-focused teaching in a fun and loving atmosphere where your child feels treasured.
Because we feel their spiritual education doesn't end when they leave River Oaks, children will receive take-home materials related to what they've learned in class. Our hope is that parents will use these resources to reinforce these lessons at home.
Sunday School
Sunday School is at 9:30am and we offer three different classes:
- Pre-k and kindergarten
- 1st through 3rd grade
- 4th and 5th grade
Children's Church...The R.O.C.K.: River Oaks Covenant Kids
Children in pre-k up through 5th grade begin worship in the 10:30am service with their families and are dismissed to the R.O.C.K. after the children's sermon or "Sermon in the Box."

We are starting a new program in the month of February for both of our Children's church classes...Kids' Quest Catechism Club. Children benefit greatly from the memorization of the catechism, because it teaches them theological vocabulary and categories they will understand later. The goal of Kids' Quest is not only memorization, but an initial understanding that will lay a foundation for the children's belief and trust in God. Kids' Quest uses biblical accounts of God's work in the world to illustrate his character and explain abstract theological truths in a concrete way. Kids will have fun learning with music, games, art and written activities. They'll get prizes for their memorization efforts too!
