Equipping the Saints

We believe that those called to lead a local church are not tasked with “doing all the ministry,” but with helping every member of the body of Christ to use their spiritual gifts for ministry.

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Eph 4:11-13

The ROC Internship

River Oaks believes that the church throughout all ages is called to nurture the next generation of gospel ministers. While we value the role that formal seminary education plays in this process (our associate pastor is a seminary professor!), we believe that the local church provides invaluable “on the field” training. Find out more about our paid pastoral internship.

Some of our former interns include Luther Tate, Austin Slater, David Knowles, Zach McIntosh, Jordan Born, Todd Boone, and Graham Gunden.
