Women's Studies

Wednesday nights, 6 - 7:30 pm, we’ll continue the study we began in September by Nancy Guthrie, Promised One: Seeing Jesus in Genesis. This book compliments our Sunday morning corporate gatherings where we are also working our way through Genesis in the sermon series. However, Nancy Guthrie’s study has particular purpose — helping us to find Jesus in the Old Testament! Even though Genesis was written LONG before Jesus was born, its characters and events point to the coming promised Messiah. In fact, Jesus declared that Genesis was ultimately about Him when He said in Luke 24:27: “And beginning with Moses and the Prophets (the whole Old Testament) he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.”

You’re welcome to join us, even if you missed the first half!

Start Date: January 16th from 6 - 7:30 pm. This study will run from January 16th through April 3rd.

Location: Large Sunday school classroom.

Required materials: The Promised One: Seeing Jesus in Genesis. Cost: about $16 available through Amazon. Or it can be ordered for you by emailing Gwen Camera here.

The Thursday morning Bible study (11am to noon) will be starting on Jan 10th with a 14 week series on Ephesians. In Let's Study Ephesians Sinclair Ferguson skillfully leads us through this wonderful letter, explaining its teaching with masterful simplicity and showing its importance and relevance to the Church today. If Romans is, humanly speaking, the most impressive of Paul's letters, then Ephesians is probably the most elegant. In its opening doxology, blessings cascade down upon the reader. In its closing verses the smell of the battlefield lies heavily in the air and through the smoke of war we see Christians, fully clad in the armour of spiritual warfare, still standing. From beginning to end Ephesians sets before us the wonder of God's grace, the privilege of belonging to the church, and the pattern of life-transformation the gospel produces. Come and enjoy sweet fellowship, discussion, and the Word of God.
